Describing LDP Applications with the Hydra Core Vocabulary
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Linked Data Platform (LDP) W3C Recommendation provides a standard protocol and a set of best practices for the development of read-write Linked Data applications based on HTTP access to Web resources that describe their state using the RDF data model. The Hydra Core Vocabulary is an initiative to define a lightweight vocabulary to describe hypermedia-driven Web APIs. By specifying concepts commonly used in Web APIs such as hypermedia controls with their explicit semantics, the Hydra Core Vocabulary enables creation of generic API clients. This paper discusses how LDP applications can benefit from the Hydra Core Vocabulary to describe their APIs. Using Hydra, an LDP application can enable generic clients by describing the semantics of the expected and returned data. Having an API documentation will be a more efficient approach for most LDP applications than gathering information about affordences and restrictions in each HTTP interaction. Nevertheless, there are potential conflicts that have to be taken into consideration such as Hydra collections vs LDP containers or Hydra paging vs LDP paging.

متن کاملAutomatic Face Recognition via Local Directional Patterns
Automatic facial recognition has many potential applications in different areas of humancomputer interaction. However, they are not yet fully realized due to the lack of an effectivefacial feature descriptor. In this paper, we present a new appearance based feature descriptor, the local directional pattern (LDP), to represent facial geometry and analyze its performance inrecognition. An LDP feat...
متن کاملInduction of secondary axis in hydra revisited: New insights into pattern formation
In 1909, several years before the famous `Organizer’ experiments of Spemann and Mangold, Ethel Browne demonstrated induction of a secondary axis in hydra by grafting a hypostome. Based on this and subsequent work, in the late sixties, Lewis Wolpert proposed the theory of morphogen gradients and positional information. We have studied secondary axis induction by hypostome and foot tissue using t...
متن کاملControlling State Advertisements of Non-negotiated LDP Applications
There is no capability negotiation done for Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) applications that set up Label Switched Paths (LSPs) for IP prefixes or that signal point-to-point (P2P) Pseudowires (PWs) for Layer 2 Virtual Private Networks (L2VPNs). When an LDP session comes up, an LDP speaker may unnecessarily advertise its local state for such LDP applications even when the peer session is esta...
متن کاملRecovery from control plane failures in the CR-LDP signalling protocol
The Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) needs to recover its state information after a control plane failure, so that the established connections in the data plane are not disrupted by any new connection set-up. We propose a backup mechanism to store the LDP state information in an upstream neighbour node. The backup LDP state information is synchronized with the original LDP state information in...
